Excursion to Bad Urach 22nd July 2023

ASSIST excursion to Bad Urach on 22.7.23
In ideal excursion weather we drove with 3 cars and a total of 13 participants ( 9 Students from 6 Countries) through the summery landscape of the Swabian Alb to Bad Urach. Some of the fields had already been harvested. We walked along the Mühlbach stream to the foot of the Urach waterfall. Then we climbed steep stairs to the plateau above the waterfall. Under shady trees we fortified ourselves with a picnic. Before continuing the walk, we had a cheerful round of Frisbee, in which everyone took part. Only some of them succeeded in making a sound out of a blade of grass clamped between their thumbs. After a sweaty climb to the ruins of Hohen Urach, there was a wonderful view over the valleys and forests around Urach and of the town. After the descent, a short walk through the old town of Bad Urach was on the programme. Here a delicious ice cream refreshed us before we unexpectedly plunged into the hustle and bustle of the “Uracher Schäferlauf” on the market square. This will be a nice memory for all of us. Satisfied and a little exhausted, we returned to Ulm.
