Blog: ASSIST Excursion to the Mercedes-Benz Museum & Esslingen on 30th November 2024.

The trip was a highlight for a group of 25 international students studying in Germany. They had the opportunity to get to know German culture, history and engineering. Our goal was to experience the fascination of the Mercedes-Benz Museum and enjoy the festive atmosphere of the Esslingen Christmas Market.
The day started early in the morning. We met at Ulm Central Station to travel together by public transport to our first destination.
The atmosphere was full of anticipation and the participants exchanged stories from their home countries.

Visit to the Mercedes-Benz Museum
The Mercedes-Benz Museum was an impressive experience. The futuristic building and the innovative exhibition inspired all participants. The chronological tour through the history of the automobile was particularly exciting. The students were fascinated by the development of technology – from the first motor cars to modern electric cars.
Visit the Esslingen Christmas market
The Esslingen Christmas market, one of the most beautiful and unique Christmas markets in Germany, attracts numerous visitors from near and far every year. With its medieval atmosphere and historic setting in the old town of Esslingen am Neckar, the market offers an incomparable experience. The Christmas market in Esslingen differs from other markets due to its medieval area. The traders and craftsmen dress up in medieval costumes and offer goods and food according to old traditions. Visitors can watch blacksmithing, candle making or pottery and even try their hand at it themselves. The half-timbered houses in the old town provide the perfect backdrop and give the market an authentic atmosphere.
There are daily performances on the stage, and for children there are storytellers, carousels and craft activities. In the evening, torches and fireplaces create a particularly cozy and festive atmosphere.

Returning in Ulm we have had a long , exciting and overwhelming day finished.
